At the moment I have a 250Gb External Hard Drive that has my iTunes on it. I've just bought a 500Gb HD to replace it, once the new HD is set up etc do I just change the folder in my iTunes Prefs to move all my media on to it?

It should be a pretty simple operation yeah? I just don't want to accidentally delete 240Gb of media - that'd make me quite sad.

Wow, if you've completely filled a 250 GB HD, I wouldn't recommend just getting a 500 GB to replace it. You'll fill it in no time. Why not get a 750 GB for $20 or so more? Or even a 1TB HD, which can be had for less than $200 these days?

To answer your question, I don't think just changing your iTunes prefs will do it. You've got to physically copy everything over. (and see the article chas0001 linked -- looks like a pretty thorough description of what's involved)

500Gb = £55

1Tb = £120

I'll buy another when I need it. Small and often > big and rarely imo.
