Just took the plunge, bought a MBP!

Total with tax and 2dayship = $1,961.43 with school discount. I was gonna use the ADC student discount but I couldn't wait any longer so I paid the extra money, why not!

I will eventually upgrade the ram to 4GB and hdd to 500GBs once that Samsung drive comes out.

This is gonna be my main machine, I am converting from my windows desktop back to os x.
Handing down this desktop to my brother since the computer he is using is over 10 years old.

I just bought one too. After three weeks with this site and two depressing tuesdays I got to use my educational discount for a MBP 15" 2.5 ghz glossy. I find myself checking up on my order status about once a hour which is almost as bad as waiting for the updated MBP to come out in the first place.

Upgrading from a 1.67GHz PowerBook G4, so this new machine should be a screamer.

These are great machines. I upgraded from a 1.67 PB and the difference is pretty striking when doing anything processor intensive like ripping DVD's, or anything DVD related...

Congratulations.
I just got mine 2 days ago. I kept my Dell laptop just in case i have buyers remorse. Nothing against DELL but i havent even touched it since i got this machine.

man waiting is horriable. Does anyone know if its possiable to go to go a apple store and pickup the model I ordered online and cancel the delivery from apple.com? Or would i have to cancel my order online, go the apple store and re-purchase it in store?

I don't think you can order like you would a pickup from say bestbuy.com. What you can do is cancel your order online and go buy one at the Apple store.
