Just tried out the new MBP at full brightness

Side by side with the older rmbp at best buy. The new display is definitely brighter but it isn't a huge difference, I would bet it's nowhere close to being 60% brighter but maybe my eyes are playing tricks. Also the new keyboard is indeed terrible. I may be able to type faster on it after a while but the typing experience feels really cheap. Is there no hope for a thicker powerful MacBook in the future with a better keyboard? Otherwise quite a few of us will have to switch back to a Thinkpad or something.

Yeah, it may be just a cluster F, then again I don't type much these days so I can't tell. Those old Thinkpad keyboards almost typed by themselves, they were so good.
