I just nervously took my 3G out of the box expecting to see a yellow screen and uneven glass. Needless to say this concern was NOT valid. I talked to the AT&T guy who told me that they haven't had 1 return yet on a new iPhone. I noticed no defects at all and am very happy with it.
I'm sure you've all read a million reviews by now so here's what I found that I hadn't read in a review.
The 3G iPhone is noticeably different than the previous model. More than I had anticipated. It's lighter and seems much smaller. I had to put it side by side with my old one to assure myself it wasn't smaller... Being the big guy that I am, the new smaller feel of this iPhone isn't really a plus for me, but the 3G and GPS is a must, so I'll learn to live with it. The GPS is also much better than the reviewers would have you believe and I had full bars of 3G service everywhere I've been so far.
So basically I'll say this. Everyone's worries about the 3G are overblown and it's got a much lighter/smaller feel to it. That's about it. I hope this helps someone somehow. I'm off to play with my new SMALLER FEELING gadget.
