... And I must say it is awesome. I saw a video on YouTube that allows you to download mywi for free from the jail broken store cydia and it worked as it said on the box. Didn't have to pay any signup fee for mywi.

It's a great little app, obviously it requires a jail broken iPhone but you are saving so much money on a 3G data plan right?

I'm on o2 in the UK and have an unlimited data plan for my iPhone

But that doesnt apply to tethering. Once you switch it on it does cost £1 a day however much you use it
But im lookin forward to trying this out anyway!

The app bypassed the standard tethering process. As far as the network is concerned, you're iphone is pulling the data.

Congrats. Now give that o2 data plan a good bollocking with your iPad.

Hmmm. I have a stack of regular SIMs (as opposed tio MicroSIMs) I use when traveling in Europe (all with daily/weekly prepaid data options). I jailbroke and unlocked my original iPhone -- it's only EDGE but it sounds like I could use this in a pinch. Good enough for checking email and some basic surfing.
