Just wondering about itunes download...

HI, I know this might be a kinnda stupid question, but when I download music onto my macbook it is saved in the downloads section and is automaticaly copied to itunes. But are there any other folder to wich these music files are copied. I mean if I delete them from the downloads section does that mean that the file copies are only in the itunes folders or somewhere else?

As far as I know they are only in the itunes music library file (and only then if you have the option 'copy files to itunes music library when adding to library' checked in the itunes preferences.)
