Just wondering and looking for information about boot rom

Well ya. I have some free time and would like to learn some of the things needed to understand the process of dumping the a boot rom. I know there will be lots and lots of reading and understanding, I just would like a little push in the right direction. If you can help, please by all means do so. If you want to flame please go elsewhere. Im just trying to learn.
