Hi Everyone,

I've been through the forums reading up on problems with JVC HD cameras and FCE (wish I'd done that before I bought this monster) and I'm still having problems.

I have the GZ-HD3, which records to .TOD. I installed the software from the CD that came with the camera and then installed more software for the camera that people on the threads said was useful. I've got Quicktime pro with appropriate plugins (which tells me the .tod video contains "incorrect duration" and doesn't let me open the files). I'm running FCE HD 3.5.1 and mpeg streamclip 1.9.1

1) It seems that most people have had success with taking .tod and converting it to AIC in mpeg streamclip. When I do this it looks like crap, very blocky and blurry. I pick "export to quicktime" then pick "apple intermediate codec" for compression. I don't change anything else. Have I missed something? Am I doing it wrong?

2)No matter what I change it to (even when I swallow the loss of image quality and change it to DV) when I put it in FCE the canvas shows, "unrendered" when I try to play it back. I know that my settings must be off somewhere, but I've tried changing them in the "simple setup" menu and that hasn't seemed to work.

I appreciate any and all help you can give me.
