I'm kind of mad right now.
I'm editing a major project on final cut, with the footage being JVC ProHD @ 24p.
I always use the batch capture of final cut to capture my footage. So tonight I was halfway done logging my footage when I noticed an outpoint at frame 26. Frame 26 shouldn't exist since the damn thing is 24p.
So i went to capture a single offline clip that has an inpoint ending at 28 frames. Low and behold it couldn't find the timecode. So now I have to capture now everything and put up with that damn 5 second preroll crap. I can't wait til the Sony EX1's arrive at my university.....
The JVC deck read out the proper timecode, yet final cut fudged the last few frames.
I had final cut setup for HDV 24p and tried all the deck formats HDV NDF, HDV, HDV basic. Still fudge numbers.
The camera that was used was a JVC gy-hd110 and the deck was a BR50.
Any ideas on what went wrong?
