Keep AWU or trade in for AW11?

Hi,

Recently I ve received an AWU with 90% battery health and I was wondering if I should keep it or trade it in for AW11 and pay extra £100. I don’t really mind the Ultra being more bulky... Is AW11 a huge upgrade over AWU or should I just keep the Ultra?

Keep the AWU and get the S11. I have both, the AWU3 black and the S11 Space Gray, I love both. Regular week I use the Ultra and weekends I use the S11, just because I like that way.

Assuming it is an Apple Watch Ultra 1. It will be slightly faster but nothing earth shattering . You get sleep apnea, some finger gestures, seconds in the AOD, on device Siri and hypertension notifications in the Series 11. I personally prefer the Ultra 1 over an Apple Watch Series 11, and I am still rocking mine.

yes it’s Ultra 1… been coming from series 7 and I don’t sleep with the watch, I have Siri disabled and the rest of extra features seem kind of useless to me. I’ll keep the Ultra I guess. Kind of tired of the AW design anyway. The flat display of AWU looks so much better!

If you disable all the features do you even need an Apple watch?

What do you use it for other than the time?

Gym, homekit, messages, music, weather. Is there a rule that in order to have an AW one must use all the features? Should I enable handwashing bubbly sounds? Will that make me eligible to have an AW?

That’s the thing. I am getting a good deal for the trade in. I would have to pay around £100 for a brand new series 11 but I’ve got kinda tired of that design. I don’t wanna spend too much and one watch is enough for me. I didn’t get used visually to the bulkiness of the Ultra though! I’ll keep it around for few more days and see if I dig it.
 
I'd say it's strictly personal preference based on visuals / design. If the bulkiness isn't agreeing with you, change the watch. Me, I thought the regular watch (had the larger version of the S9) was too small so I switched to the Ultra, and I am loving it, it's perfect for me. The internals are irrelevant IMO, as all of these watches are great and hardware/software-wise you're going to be happy with whatever version you buy, so long as you feel comfortable with what is on your wrist.

I need to get used to the bulk design I guess. Been having a series 4 and a 7 for years now. Weirdly enough, last night I tried to sleep with it as a test to see if it’s ridiculously uncomfortable and it turned out it’s more comfortable than my previous series 7! I think the charging port side is flatter and sits better on the arm idk. What I worry the most is if the Ultra will still hold up well in the next 2-3 years.

Yep! It was even more outrageous last year when the AW10 had a better CPU than the ultra (and a screen that was as large).

The number of analog faces outnumbers the digital ones. Let's gatekeep our nicest digital ones to the Ultra. Thanks Apple.
