Am I right here? I know Apple, or the entire US, does not have specific dates for closures of stores. But last I talked to Apple they said once the stores close to me reopen I have 14 days to return my laptop

I got it on around July first, though I was within my 14 day window when the closure near me happened. So here we are over a month later. So essentially I can return this even if they re open in a month or two or three??

If you are concerned about not getting the correct information from Apple or the store not opening, you can initiate a return online as well, and drop off you package at the appropriate shipper with postage paid by Apple.

The temporary closure FAQ seems to state that it depends on how you bought the item. I'd recommend getting current clarification about this via Apple Support chat so that you have it in writing.

Q: Can I return or exchange my product at my local Apple Store?
A: For products purchased online, you can start a no-contact return at apple.com/orderstatus. For purchases made at an Apple Store, you can return your product within 14 days after the store reopens. Some stores may be open for curbside pickup with limited support and are unable to complete returns at this time. If your local store has only curbside pickup available, you can return your product once the store has fully reopened. You can check your local store hours and status at apple.com/retail.

If item was bought in store, it can not be returned via mail. Absolutely no way possible. I had lengthy discussion w Apple support about this.

There apparently is no record or proof of it in their online database for mail/online return logistics.

They did however say if next time I were to buy an item for Pick up In store, which means purchase online but picked up in store, it can be returned via mail/online.
