I was planning in replacing my current mini (a 16G w AT&T) with an iPad air. But after reading reviews of both devices, I may just keep my current mini and get an iPad Air. The current mini will be a good travel device for a couple of years due to the weight and hotspot capability, along with a strong battery. The iPad Air appears to have a better battery and processor than the retina Mini and will likely last several years. I am thinking about going big on Storage (maybe 128 gig). Also thinking about adding a Kindle Paperwhite for ultimate portability for books only...

Sounds like a solid plan.

Bought the air and sold the mini. Then bought the mini retina for wife. So all bases covered and happy wife!

I love my devices but I couldn't see the same person using a Mini and an Air unless money just isn't an issue. Is the size/portability difference that significant for you?

Not knocking you, just generally curious.

After seeing the current Retina Mini, I'm more resolute in my choice... I'll likely get an Air during black Friday. 128G + LTE.
