How do you do this? I googled it, and found a bunch of answers, but the place where the checkbox is must have been moved recently.

Any ideas?

Moved? No, it's where it has always been.

Click through all of the tabs in the iPod's menu until you find it. It's on the first one.

I don't seem to have it, and my iTunes is updated to the most recent version.

In iTunes 8.0.2, and with the iPod connected, the name of your iPod should appear in the left sidebar. With the name of the iPod hi-lighted, go to the Summary tab which should already be selected. Along with the options to sync or manually manage the content, there should also be the option to open iTunes when the iPod is connected.

Found it. Thanks.
