Hey Guys,

I got my new Mac Pro 3,1 in 2008. I am a designer, and do animation etc... I recently upgraded it with 16GB ram, replaced both processors with the X5482 3.2Ghz, added an SSD drive (Operating At Sata ll speed), and am using the R9-280X video card. It still operates very well. I use Adobe CC Suite, and sometimes it seems to lag a bit with rendering and just overall tasks.

My dilemma is, I also have another system just sitting idle, that I can upgrade to the Intel Core i7-4790K Devil’s Canyon. All I would need to add is the processor and ram. It has the same video card, and SSD at as my Mac 3,1 does but it is Sata lll. What would you do in my position. Stick with the Mac Pro 3,1 or upgrade the other system for around $500

How much faster would the Core i7-4790K Devil’s Canyon be for me? Would I notice that much speed/performance difference from my Mac Pro 3,1? Appreciate your time, and any help or advice you can offer.
