Hi,

I'm currently trying out a MBA 13" Ultimate (had it 1 week so far), whilst I decide what to do with my current 2007 MBP 15" (4GB,160GB HD), as the keyboard and trackpad stopped working recently (as 3 previous quickfixes at genius bar have failed after a day, some problem with top board section), it'll cost upto £120 to fix properly and no computer for upto 2 weeks.

I'm undecided whether to repair the MBP and keep that going until they bring out a 15" Air or keep the MBA, repair and sell the MBP.

The main reason I'm undecided is that the screen doesn't appear to look as good a my current pre-unibody MBP, although it is sharper, but lacks colour depth and has a washed out feel to it when compared side by side. I have tweaked with calibrations to improve it at the expense of a blue tinge.

Any advice on which one I should keep and/or the screen differences?

Why doesn't the Air have a different screen to? if it supposed to be the next generation of Macbook's, why does the screen not appear as good.

As many have already mentioned here most are extremely pleased with the MBA screen.

You must just be used to your 4 year old screen and not liking the adjustment to a new one.

I'd keep the Air, when they're not side by side within a day or two it will seem the same, actually I think much better.

Ive seen several reviews of the MBA, saying its screen is one of the best! Surely the old MBP with a matte screen would look more washed out than a MBA glossy screen? If you're in a dark room, lower the brightness.

Any more advice today?

Anyone bothered by the washed out screen compared to a 15" MBP?
