I'm on a family plan of 4 phones. Only my phone has a data plan (unlimited). However, my phone is not eligible for an upgrade until 2/25/11.

The 3 other phones are eligible for upgrades.

I'm trying to upgrade one of the 3 eligible phones so I can get the subsidized price, however, on apple.com, it's asking me to choose a data plan when pre-ordering.

Is there a way to keep the my unlimited data plan while upgrading one of the other 3 eligible phones to take advantage of the subsidized price?

Big thanks.

You will have to choose a data plan for the eligible line but once you move the phone to your line you can remove that plan from the line you used for the upgrade.

Ahh, ok. Thanks for the insight.

1. upgrade an eligible phone
2. choose any data plan
3. when the phone comes in, register the iPhone4 via iTunes using MY existing account/data plan

PS: if I choose a data plan for one of the 3 eligible phones, will I be forced to keep that data plan, thus leaving me paying for 2 data plans? Ultimately, I still want to only be paying for 1 data plan.

Thank you.
