I want to devote my 80 gig drive to house all my music and use my other 2 120's for my work. However whenever I import songs into itunes, it copies the file of places the new file into the iTunes folder on the startup disk. Is there a way to make iTunes only update its playlists and song library thru the songs i have on my 80 gig drive?

Go to Advanced preferences and change your iTunes music folder to the folder on the disk of your choice. Then use the Consolidate Library... in the Advanced menu to move all your music over.
