Keeping Mail In Inbox

I have an Ipad 3rd Generation and have synced multiple email accounts to it (gmail, hotmail, icloud, microsoft exchange etc) and for some reason it will delete older emails constantly even though i have selected the keep 1000 emails option in account settings.

With the microsoft exchange account i cant search the server for old messages either.

i like the option to be able to go back through old emails on one device.

Any help?
