Every two days I seem to be cleaning my 16" MBP screen...

...and technically I shouldn't be as I have taken steps to protect the screen from dirt when open and keyboard imprint when closed.

I bought one of those cloth keyboard covers from ShaggyMac

However, even the laptop protector they sell doesn't really work

I continue to close my laptop cover and open it to find a dirty imprint of my keyboard on the screen.

Is there a product that I may be missing that can solve this issue?

Thanks in advance, everyone!

That's interesting that the keyboard cover didn't work for you. I always had good luck with a simple piece of tissue paper (found in the gift wrap section of stores), similar in thickness to what's packaged with new Macbooks.

A retina screen on a MacBook Pro has a VERY THIN sprayed-on anti-glare coating.

The more you "clean" the display, the greater the chances you'll damage this coating and it will start flaking off.
Hence, the condition known as "StainGate".

The solution is to refrain from touching the display or putting much pressure on it when the lid is closed.

IMPORTANT QUESTIONS:
Do you carry the MBP around in a backpack?
If so, are there other items within applying pressure to either side of the MBP?

Thank you both for your help.

No, I don't carry this MBP around.

I do use a spray called iKlear which is specifically made for Apple products and I clean the screen every few weeks using that and a microfiber cloth.

Big fan of iKlear here too. Apparently it's what the Apple store staff use as well. Apple used to sell it but stopped for some reason.
