I did some searching, but maybe I was using the wrong combo of keywords? I don't know. Here's what's going on:
I've had an iBook G4 for the past 4 years w/Leopard since Dec 07, bought a refurb 13in MacBook last night. It came with Tiger. I'd like to put my retail version of Leopard onto the MacBook and then hook Time Machine up to get my stuff on there. Then I'll just revert the iBook back to the Tiger it came with and be on my way.
What I'd like to do is keep the iPhoto 6 and Garageband 3 (the ones on my iBook are older versions) for now until I get the iLife '09 upgrade. Is there a way to keep the more updated versions of these programs on the MacBook but still use Time Machine once I install Leopard? I don't want Time Machine replacing these newer versions with my older versions that are stored on Time Machine.
Thanks for any help!
