Is there a way to set my MBP to continue the wireless connection if I close the lid? The public network is automatically detected once I open the lid but because of the network I'm on, I have to log in every time I close then open the lid.

Thanks.

Thanks for that answer; I never thought of bluetooth. Now, I have a dumb question. Will the bluetooth suggestion work if I don't have any bluetooth devices?

I'm using Airport of course in my MBP and connecting to a public wireless system that requires a log in every time I close the lid and open a browser. I'm looking for a way to close the lid for security purposes, open it back up, and still be connected to the internet. I'm able to do this with Windows computers but haven't figured it out with my Mac.
