The Ken Burns effect in I-movie doesn't allow you to freeze at the end of a move and I've read there is a work around for this. Does anyone know about this? thx!

But it won't freeze. It stops moving, but I can't figure out how to get it to hold onto the last frame - or to start on a still frame. It's always in motion. When I used FCPX, I can make just freeze the move at the end or at the beginning. You can freeze a regular clip in I-movie, but not the Ken Burns effect. Just wondering if anyone had figured out a way around this.

That seems to do the trick. I exported the last frame as a still and then dragged it down into the timeline. Then I copied the original move and reversed it so I could make a secondary move afterwards. Pretty clunky, but it gets the job done. I remember in the early days of FCP, it was awkward enough that I just used Photo To Movie for my moves and then exported them into FCP as QT movies. You had to get the timing right though or you had to do it all over again. Thanks for your help.
