Has anyone had problems using the Kensington TrackballWorks 1.1 Driver on 10.8 Mountain Lion? If so, did you get it to work or just give up?

After starting the computer, go to System Preferences and click on Trackball Works. That's all it takes to make the device operate the way it's supposed to; there's no need to actually change any of the settings.

I don't remember where I learned of this solution, but it does the trick for me. Pretty annoying, though, that this has to be done every time the computer is turned on.
