I'm a sucker for simple, well designed products that do a job well and the Stance from Kenu falls into that category. The Stance can be thought of as a desktop tripod for iPhones and iPods that have a lightning port.
The minimal packaging is a simple recyclable affair with usage instructions printed on the back. Inside this is the Stance itself, fashioned from aluminium with small rubber feet for traction and an articulating plastic ball joint with a lighting connector for securing to the device.
The Stance can be used in one of two ways - as a proper tripod solution when holding the device in portrait orientation or as a kick stand when holding your phone in landscape mode. The former is great for keeping your phone visible on your desk to monitor communications or when conducting a Facetime call. The spread of the three legs determine how tall the device will sit but you will want to ensure the phone is relatively upright to remain stable. Closing the legs and folding these to the back will allow you to sit the device in landscape mode, great for movie watching, and the ball joint still allows you to control the viewing angle.
One final addition is a bottle opener etched into one of the legs, not really a requirement for a phone stand but it is a small bonus on something you may be carrying around with you.
It's a simple, discreet product that works well and is a stylish alternative to the many cheaper options out there.
