Have you upgraded anything in the computer? In my experience bad RAM is typically the cause of kernel panics.

It is a hackintosh on an Dell inspiron 1525 with 4gb of ram, which was upgraded, but i have ran osx 10.6.8 (the version i am on) for a while with no issues.
