Kernal Panic when I plug in USB drive.

When I plug in my external hard drive in to my Macbook Pro I get a kernel panic but when I plug in my iPhone I don't get a kernel panic. Any idea how on to fix this? I tried repairing permissions but that didn't fix the problem.

Are you running 10.5.6, and did you recently jailbreak your iPhone?

Install the IOUSB.kext form 10.5.6 it worked for me. I had the same issue as you.
