Kernel 0 process - 75 threads - anyone know what this is?

Just browsing around, noticed this one process...seems like a lot of threads compared to other processes. Anyone know what this is?

If you mean something like this, then it's standard:

79/22 means 79 threads in total, with 22 running.

Not sure. I'll take a pic of my activity monitor window when I get home tonight.

I'm new to Mac, so I'm not familiar with the normal every day processes yet, but I also noticed a new one after installing Office for Mac11, "windowsserver". Funny thing is, it's always running even when I don't open any Office programs...? MS software really annoys me.

If your original post was about a process with ID# 0, it must have been kernel_task. Also WindowServer is a standard OS X process; it has nothing to do with MS.
