Long time lurker, finally joined the site!!
Anyways here is the problem. I have an older iMac and it has started having issues recently. The system would freeze up needing a manual reboot via the power button on the back of the machine. What I did notice was the fan would run VERY loud (and so would the computer) even though nothing was being done on the computer. It would take a few reboots to get past the "kernel error you must reboot the computer message." Or the desktop freezing in the middle of the boot process-further requiring another reboot....see a trend?

Any advice or suggestions would be much appreciated!!
