Kernel Panic Persistent Problems - Please Help

I have been receiving kernel panic messages each time I boot my Imac up (2.8Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2GB memory, running. Typically they occur within the first couple of minutes and I can hear my fan running (which usually I don't hear - not sure if related or not) Below is the log I get with the error message. Any help would be greatly appreciated I have tried reset of PRAM/NVRAM, running disk repair permissions and had no luck. Tried booting from my startup disk to run disk utility but system shuts down before its completed. was able to run the quick version of hardware test and got a message stating 4SNS/1/40000000 TGOH - 97.875. i tried to run extended hardware test but computer shuts down after a couple of minutes before test is able to complete.
