Below I have a post detailing strangenesses I have been having with my MacPro 2.8 w/8800. More and more it's looking like the core of the problem is the Sonnet Tango Express card. Just had a Kernel Panic that gave the following report info to send to Apple:
Backtrace continues...
Kernel loadable modules in backtrace (with dependencies):
com.apple.driver.AppleFWAudio(2.4.0fc8)@0x88f000->0x8ddfff
dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOFireWireFamily(3.4.0)@0x701000
dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOFireWireAVC(2.2.1)@0x868000
dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOAudioFamily(1.6.4b7)@0x878000

dependency: com.apple.kext.OSvKernDSPLib(1.1)@0x865000
As I see the word "Firewire" and "Audio" mentioned frequently it seems likely that it is due to the Tango Express card or the Firebox that is connected to it.
Someone had mentioned that the Firebox may need a TI chipset, so it might be an incompatibility between the two as the Tango Express uses an NEC Chipset. If anybody has any more info on this...
I'm going to switch the Firebox to the MacPro's native Firewire port and see if problems stop, but I'm also curious if the message above gives an indication as to whether the Firebox or the Tango Express card is defective (as I'd like to get them replaced if that's the case)
