I was looking through the Console troubleshooting USB audio and noticed this log message that shows up multiple times a second, every second:
I don't think this is related to my audio issue but I find it odd that this is happening multiple times a second, every second. The console does not flag it as an error or a fault.
The computer is a 2020 27" iMac running Monterey 12.0.1. This was happening on the latest Big Sur, too.
Here's what I've tried:
Unplugged all USB devices
Unplugged everything
Uninstalled the drivers for my USB audio interface
OS reinstall
Revive T2 Firmware
What I find odd is the dfu-util bit, as it would suggest that something is trying to update the firmware over USB? dfu-util is not installed on this computer though, and the actual process is 'kernel'.
I have not been able to find any information on the internet as most search results seem to be hackintosh-related.
Does anybody have any thoughts on what may be going on here and if I should be trying to fix this somehow?
Update
Figured it out by process of elimination, it was a third-party app.
Code:
/kernel (/System/Library/Extensions/IOUSBHostFamily.kext/Contents/MacOS/IOUSBHostFamily)
000336.758908 dfu-util@(null): AppleUSBHostUserClient::start: missing entitlement com.apple.ibridge.control
