Kernel question

How would one go about reinstalling the kernel with out actually reinstalling the whole os again or doing a repair install? Search was no help for me. Thank you.
 
Basically you can't do this in an Apple supported way. You might want to try this but I'm not sure how well that will play with a real OSX (as opposed to a pure Darwin) install.
