My macbook pro crashed recently, ever since then kernel_task has shown to use 100% of a core in activity monitor. This has resulted in having OS X stuttering and freezing. I've tried to reinstall Leopard but so far I've either gotten a "No Entry" sign or the rotating circle just goes on indefinitely. Strangely my Windows XP Boot partition works perfectly. Any ideas on how to remedy this?
