Kernel_task going haywire every time MagSafe is tripped on MacBook Pro

As if the machine is preparing for sleep mode or whatever it is, It will start paging and doing lots of Disk Write.

I am wondering if there is some sort of settings I could avoid it. It make sense the machine want to save everything to disk when the wire is tripped. But I have 100% battery. Every time this happen my machine just grind to a halt.

Anyone know how to disable it ?
