Hello,
Can someone help me why my kernel_task is writing so much data to the SSD? Activity Monitor showed 14TB (not a typo!) in about 2 month. I restarted and now two days later it already has 435GB written while only 1.07GB read. Swap is unlikely because I have 64Gb of Memory and the Mac uses about 15 to 25Gb in daily use.
It is an iMac from 2015 with a 512Gb SSD Radeon Pro 580 8 GB and 64Gb of Memory.
I know that kernel_task is basically the OS. CPU is idling most of the time.
Apps open:
Safari with 3-5 Tabs
iTunes
Mail
Steam
Thank you
