Kernel_Task high ram usage

Hey
I recently purchased a 2015 rMBP
Im noticing a slight battery drain lately so i opened activity monitor and kernel_task is taking around 1GB of ram with 116 threads
Is it normal?

It is normal for me on my mid 2015 MBP, OS 10.11.2. I'm using 1.01 Gb and 122 threads.
