So with the workaround for WindowServer memory leak, I have now noticed a strange problem with kernel_task. On my late 2013 13' rMBP, right after boot up, kernel_task "Memory" and "Real Mem" are around 600MB. As time goes by, say 2 days, "Memory" grows to around 700MB, quite normal. But "Real Mem" grows to 1.4GB.

I don't remember seeing similar thing before 10.13, so something weird with 10.13. Anybody noticing the same issue?

Does that really cause any issue to you? A new “style” of memory management on a new OS is actually normal. Otherwise, it can never improve.
