Child abuse is a terrible thing. A mother left her child alone for 3 weeks. JACKSONVILLE, Florida (AP) -- A 2-year-old left alone for nearly three weeks while her mother was behind bars survived by eating mustard, ketchup, rice and raw pasta, police said.

It brings up the idea mentioned many times. You have to pass a test to get a license to carry a gun or drive a car. A child is much more important. Afterall they are our future.

It sounds like she is medically OK. The problem is the psychological damage!

what was the mother thinking would happen here? she was going to jail and just decided not to tell anyone she had a kid? i mean, seriously, WTF? it's not like you could *forget* you had a kid or something...
