A few days ago my "6" key on my 2016 rMB lost its click and felt like it had no travel, although it was registering.
I tried blowing in the gaps around it with an air jet without success.
Today I did the same thing but used the point of scalpel to gently lift the key away from the keyboard as far as it would go, without applying any force. The movement involved is very small, but seems to have done the trick.
Now the 6 key is completely recovered.
I have seen threads where people have returned the Mac to Apple for the same problem.
