I just bought a new used mbp 15 inch 2010 to replace my liquid spilled 2010 mbp and I noticed that a few keys on the keyboard were worn. My mbp with the liquid spill was laying around so I thought I could replace the keys on the on the new mbp with the old keys. It turns out that they have different spring mechanisms that are not interchangeable.

These computers are both from mid 2010 one was the 15 i5 2.4 and the other being 15 2.66 i7. Is it possible that 2 different types of spring mechanisms were used on the same model? Could have the top case been replaced on the new mbp with an older model?
