Are the keys on the keyboard of the new 16" MBP physically larger than the keys on the 2015 MBP? Or is there more space between each key?

I stopped by an Apple Store to look at the new 16" MBP today (didn't have my 2015 MBP on me) and it felt as if I needed to stretch my fingers further to hit the keys when I tried typing on it.

Wondering if it's my imagination or if the 16" MBP keys are actually larger/spaced farther apart?

The actual keys are a little bit smaller, but there is a little bit more space between the keys.

Sorry, misread. This was compared to last years butterfly model.

Are the new keys smaller than last year version thou? I tried them out and they still feel big

Here is a thread that has pictures of the 2 keyboards.
Does the 16" have the same keyboard at the 2018, 2019, the one with issues?

Yes, compared to last year they are a little smaller, and there is more space between them. The difference in actually using them is a huge improvement to me. I never really had much issue with previous butterfly keyboard besides I had to get keyboard replaced a couple of times, but this new keyboard is much much bette to type on in my opinion.

Ironically I've had no reliability problems with butterfly and I like the feel, but I'm make more typocs because the keys are a smidge too big for me 😅 Another plus point to upgrade 😊

I am finally leaving my 2015 behind due to the vast improvements in the keyboard of the new MBP. It is miles better for me that the butterfly keyboard and feels great to type on.

The new keyboard is INFINITELY better than the butterfly when it comes to typing feel. IMO (duh). The butterfly was like typing on glass. Let's hope the new one proves as reliable as the prior scissor keyboards!

Does the new 16" MBP have a new scissor keyboard or the butterfly keyboard on the 2018 and 2019 models that had issues?
I just returned from Apple. I can't feel the difference between the keys of the 15" 2018 v/s 16" 2019. Anyway, I initially was going to make the purchase of the 16" Base Model $2399 when I got to Apple. But after lifting that laptop, it is way too heavy. I travel a lot for work. I'm waiting for the 14" MBP. Apple better set it up with the scissor keyboard. I'm upgrading everything in 2020 - laptop MBP 14", iPhone 12, and I'll wait to purchase AirPod Pro then.

Hahah what are the odds ?
I was just about to post that I also am jsut back from Apple and could now feel the difference 😅 Note the first time I tried I couldn;'t feel the difference. BUT second time new one is definitely better I made much less mistakes. (I had more time second time and no apple employee breathing down my neck).

ET - the 16" does have a scissor keyboard 🙄
