Sometimes while using computer, the entire keyboard and trackpad suddenly go completely unresponsive and I can't do anything. The only button that works is the power button. It's so annoying because I have to do an emergency shutdown and I hate doing that. Is there any relief?

I did the reset thing and have been using it for about a minute now without the problem. Woohoo! If anything goes whacky I'll post back. Thanks for the help.

I've had that happen when I walk up to my MBP across carpet and discharge static into the touchpad. Touching the aluminum first prevents it.

Have you tried a USB or bluetooth mouse or keyboard to reboot without forcing it?

Yeah I've tried a usb mouse and it works when trackpad and keyboard freeze. I guess I can just use that to restart if it freezes again.
