Keyboard backlight blinking. why??

So recently my keyboards backlight has been blinking on and off. And some times goes out for longer but does return to normal, kinda gets annoying though. I plan on going to the apple store. But anyone on here can diagnosis this problem (like what part is causing the problem)? Just liked to know before I go in.

Oh and I am on a mid 2010 MBP.

I'm starting to see the same thing happen on my mid 2010 MBP as well. I forgot to buy Apple Care before my year ran out so I hope it's not an indication of something more serious.
