keyboard backlight issue

I know my keyboard backlight is fine but it will dim when I turn off the desk light. I can't type with backlight dim in the dark room.
But strange is keyboard backlight will bright when I turn on the lamp…I can't figure on ML keyboard system preference….

HELP!!!
