Ok so I was just watching a video when the keyboard backlight turned off, flashed on once, and now it shows a 'Backlight Disabled icon' best described this screenshot:

It has flashed on a couple of times briefly in the last few mins, so I'm not sure what's going on.

Any thoughts? Any way I can get it working?

Thanks

That is NOT the backlight of the display, but the backlight of the keyboard, which can't be used, if the room is too bright. Cover the iSight/Facetime camera with your hand and with the other press the F5/F6 keys to activate the keyboard backlight.

Have you tried an SMC reset yet?

Sorry yes Keyboard backlight - covering the camera has worked so I guess it's too bright (although it's the first time I've ever seen it happen and it rarely leaves this room!).

Thanks for the quick reply, I had no idea that a feature was that it would turn off so its good to know :D
