Keyboard being replaced for 2017 MBP. What are the odds i get the

newer and quieter one that also seems to have better protection for crumbs and stuff? My space bar was randomly entering 2-3 extra spaces all the time.

0% both 2016 and 2017 will be replaced with 2017 topcases not the newer 2018 ones

No chance. The 2018 keyboard isn’t compatible with the older computers.

:-/ that sucks. i've been using macs for 8 years and never had a problem. this keyboard busted in 8 months. just replacing it with same crappy design.....

I'm right there with you. Third repair on a 22 month old machine. Probably going to sell it when I get it back. I might even consider a Windows laptop next because these keyboards just suck. Typing on my wife's old MacBook Air makes me miss the old keyboards even more!
