Keyboard doesn't always reconnect on reboot

Occasionally the bluetooth keyboard takes around 5 seconds to connect after restarting my mac, so I can't enter my password straight away, this quite irritating and is a new error. I've tried repairing the device and replacing the batteries to no avail. Attached are screenshots of my keyboard and bluetooth config settings:

My iMac sometimes does the same just click on the password box with your mouse and then the keyboard is instantly recognised and then type in your password.

Never had this problem. Is this normal?

Tried that and it didn't help. This morning when I booted up the boot process took about 3 seconds longer than expected but the keyboard worked perfectly instantly. It seems to come and go
