Apple is saying this is normal wear and tear. Is that accurate? For almost $200, it’s a joke that it’s actually peeling even if well taken care of.

The support rep actually suggested I try to “clean” it to fix the peeling. 🤦‍♂️

How old is it? If you have Applecare+ on your iPad, the SKF might also be covered since Apple-branded keyboards and input devices (i.e., the Pencil) are covered.

I have AppleCare+ but support still rejected it and claimed wear and tear. It’s over a year old.

Get help
  1. Make sure that your iPad and Smart Keyboard Folio or Smart Keyboard are in the type position and that you have the latest version of iOS or iPadOS.
  2. Remove the Smart Keyboard Folio or Smart Keyboard from your iPad.
  3. Restart your iPad.
  4. Reconnect the Smart Keyboard Folio or Smart Keyboard.
What does this have to do with the OP's issue about the keyboard peeling?

Mine started to do that after a year -- I ended up buying a nice used one on ebay to replace it. Its really too bad as its a really nice cover (except it doesnt protect much lol)

Had exactly the same issue and Apple send me away with the same excuse. Wear and tear. While I never take it with me and only use it at home.

Apple handles warranty issues like a 2nd hand car dealer these days. Im stuck in the eco system, so for now im staying with the brand but these kind of BS angers me so much.

I had mine les than a year.

I read similar experiences, seems like a normal wear and tear for this product. This one reason made me off to buy.
