I'm looking to get a new MBP 15" and when I'm home I plan to use it as a desktop. I'm going to get the Thunderbolt display and a keyboard, essentially keeping the actual laptop closed. My question is about the keyboard. I like the sleekness and the freedom of the wireless keyboard, but will the wireless keyboard maintain it's connection even when the computer goes to sleep? Will I be able to wake it up? Or, would the wired keyboard be a safer bet?

Thanks

If you are talking about the Apple Bluetooth KB, yes it can wake a Macbook Pro rigged like you described. I am using the same setup and it works nicely.
