I don't want to take this back for a squeaky key, but this is infuriating. If it were the Q key, I could live with it, but it's the space bar. I am a writer, and I write a lot, so every single word, all day long has an annoying squeak.

Know how to fix a squeaky key?

Hi!
So I have a question -
Is your macbook air in warranty and are you nearby an Apple store?

If so bring it to a genius bar - they might just pop in a new keyboard, or professionally switch the key. The real benefit to this is that - you're not responsible if you break it.

If you aren't in warranty or aren't near the Apple store,
look for key replacement tutorials on Youtube for your particular model. If you respond with the model year of your machine, I can find a good one for you.
From there you can pop out the key and clean both the key mount and the key, and that should solve your issues!

Have a great day!

Thanks! That is great advice. It is a brand new MBA. I'll take it into the Mac store.
